Modular solutions and new markets - a part of XANO's growth strategy

During the first half of 2024, XANO acquired Graniten Engineering, a leading provider of high-tech automation solutions for customers primarily within pharmaceuticals and medtech across Europe. Based in Sweden, Graniten develops advanced systems that combine innovation and quality to meet a global industry’s growing demands for efficiency, traceability and sustainability.

Flexline – modular flexibility for more sustainable production flows

At the heart of Graniten’s groundbreaking offerings lies Flexline, a modular and scalable solution for primary and secondary packaging. This platform is specifically designed to address the increasing demand for small batch sizes and personalised medicine, which require a high degree of adaptability and efficiency.

Flexline is built on a modular architecture where each component can be integrated, replaced, or upgraded to rapidly respond to changing requirements. This flexibility enables Graniten’s customers to adapt their production to new standards, shifting demand, and technological advancements without the need for extensive overhauls. With Flexline, pharmaceutical manufacturers can optimise their operations while extending the lifespan of their investments.

A strategic addition to the Industrial Solutions business unit

Since the acquisition, Graniten has been a part of XANO’s Industrial Solutions business unit, providing an additional platform for continued expansion. With its advanced technical expertise and innovative solutions, such as Flexline, Graniten is a natural and strategic fit within a business unit that unites companies with adjacent expertise and innovation capabilities.

XANO sees significant potential in Graniten’s modular design principles, not only within the pharmaceutical sector but also in other industries where flexibility and efficiency are critical. This aligns seamlessly with the Group’s broader transformation towards more sustainable and circular business practices, which form an integral part of XANO’s forward-looking strategy.

A vision for the future

Graniten’s focus on modular design, adaptability, and sustainability makes it a model for the automation solutions of tomorrow. With Flexline as one of its key innovations, Graniten continues to set the standard for how technology and creativity can combine to meet the challenges of the future in the pharmaceutical industry.

As part of XANO, Graniten’s intention is to continue creating value for customers and driving progress in automation and packaging solutions. The collaboration with sister companies within the business unit further strengthens this ambition. By leveraging the many opportunities for synergy, the ability to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to customers and reach broader markets together is amplified.
